What does NuNormal with NUCALA look like?

When added to current asthma medicines, NUCALA provided

Powerful protection from severe asthma attacks

fewer asthma attacks* in NUCALA patients

fewer asthma attacks* in NUCALA patients with higher eosinophil levels.

fewer severe asthma attacks requiring hospital or ER visits* in NUCALA patients

Results may vary.

*Compared to those not taking NUCALA.

† In a clinical study of patients with ≥150 cells/mcL blood eosinophil (a type of white blood cell).

‡ A trend of greater reduction in asthma attacks in patients with increasing blood eosinophil levels, including a 75% reduction in patients with higher eosinophil levels (≥500 cells/mcL). Based on limits of the analysis, results are descriptive and your experience may differ.

Powerful reduction of oral steroids*

The majority of patients

reduced or eliminated their oral steroid use while maintaining asthma control.§

Results may vary.

*Compared to those not taking NUCALA.

§In a clinical study, 64% of NUCALA patients reduced or eliminated their daily oral steroid use vs 44% of patients not taking NUCALA. The study showed 14% of NUCALA patients eliminated daily steroid use vs 8% of patients not taking NUCALA. Based on limits of the analysis, results are descriptive, and your experience may differ.

And also with NUCALA…

Better breathing

NUCALA can improve lung function with better breathing after the first dose.

Results may vary.

Long-term safety study

Only NUCALA has a 4.5-year study that evaluated safety and efficacy in severe eosinophilic asthma.

‖ Compared to those not taking NUCALA. In a clinical study, improvements in lung function were seen 4 weeks after the first dose of NUCALA; however, due to the limits of this analysis, the result is descriptive and your experience may differ. Additional studies showed varied improvements in lung function.

What is NUCALA?

NUCALA is a different kind of treatment for your severe asthma. It's an injection you get every 4 weeks in your doctor's office or take at home. When added to your current asthma medications, NUCALA may decrease airway inflammation that can cause severe asthma attacks.

NUCALA targets eosinophils, one source of inflammation, so it treats more than just your symptoms of severe asthma.

How is NUCALA different?

  • It's not an inhaler
  • It's not a steroid

Why would your doctor recommend NUCALA?

You and your doctor are treating your severe asthma, but you may not be addressing one of the underlying causes: eosinophils. Your doctor can give you a blood test that measures your eosinophil count. In clinical studies, the blood test helped identify patients whose asthma was more likely to respond to treatment with NUCALA.

Based on your blood test results, your doctor may diagnose you with severe eosinophilic asthma and recommend adding NUCALA to your asthma treatment plan. NUCALA works with your current asthma medicines to decrease airway inflammation that can trigger severe asthma attacks.

What else should you know about NUCALA?

It's an add-on

NUCALA works in addition to the asthma medicines you already take. It's important to continue to take your current asthma medications as instructed by your healthcare provider.

It goes to a source

Eosinophils are a normal part of your immune system, but in higher numbers, they can cause inflammation. NUCALA helps reduce eosinophils in the blood, so it treats a source of severe asthma, not just the symptoms.

What's the next step?

NUCALA helps prevent severe asthma attacks, so it's important to talk to your doctor about it.

  1. Tell your doctor everything you're doing to manage your severe asthma, and talk about how your asthma is affecting your life.
  2. Ask your doctor if adding NUCALA to your current asthma treatment could help improve your severe asthma.
  3. Ask your doctor for a blood test to check your eosinophil level.
